I need a stat! Stat!
Here you go doctor!
Back to updatesWhen Greg created the stat board, it was revolutionary.
"You're telling me we can keep track of the planes now?!?!"
This really did take the game to a new level, and it also utilised the game design tool "Your pieces should teach the player the rules". It truly did this, showing each player what their stats were how they could assign their inital numbers.
There was a lot of play testing, and the major feedback was about having small pieces, in this case the numbers, was difficult for some. Enter - the Stat Wheel!
This takes the concepts Greg laid down and puts them onto a solid 6 piece rotatable wheel. It comes as a single item that a player can hold, but they can manipulate the wheels to choose their stats.
There are 6 pieces that need printing, across 3 files:
- stat_wheels.stl
- stat_side.stl
- stat_axel.stl
The wheels has a wheel for each stat. The side needs to be printed twice (and we recomend flipping on so the finish on each end of the final product is the same) The axel is... the axel.
When placed together you have 4 turnable wheel to represent each players stats. It also allows players to secretly choose their numbers before the game, secret strats and all that.
Head on over to github to find the stat wheel files and start printing your copies!
It's always so much fun seeing this game printed in different colours, so if you print some we'd love to put it in the gallery, so please send a pic to squadronleadergame@gmail.com
Happy flying folks!
